One small signal, every view
While the supported call state is active, Presence can show On a Call on a door display, private family link, dashboard, Reception View, or Group View. When it ends, Presence reevaluates the other signals you approved.

Presence receives only the limited state needed to understand that a supported call is active or has ended. Caller identity, phone number, audio, transcript, recording, and conversation content never become part of Presence.

A short pairing step connects that Mac only to your Presence account. The dashboard then shows its connection health without exposing Apple account information.

When a supported iPhone call appears through the compatible Mac setup, Presence can hold On a Call until the limited signal says it ended, then return to the correct calendar, meeting, manual, or working-hours status.

What makes this different from a calendar status?
A calendar reflects what was planned. This connection can reflect a supported iPhone call that happened unexpectedly, allowing Presence to show that the user is not currently free even when the calendar says otherwise.
Does Presence run directly on the iPhone?
No. This approach uses an optional paired Mac and a compatible Apple Continuity setup. The Mac must be available for the supported call state to reach Presence.
Can Presence see who is calling?
No. Presence is intentionally designed to receive only whether the supported call state is active or ended—not the caller, phone number, audio, transcript, or recording.
What happens if the Mac is asleep or disconnected?
Presence cannot receive the supported signal while the companion is unavailable. The dashboard shows connection health so users can see whether the feature is ready, and Presence continues evaluating any other connected availability signals.
Is Presence claiming to have invented iPhone call detection?
No. Presence’s new approach is how a limited call-state signal becomes one privacy-safe availability answer across family links, physical displays, and participating workplace views. Presence is independent from and not endorsed by Apple.
